Prized for their resistance to diseases and compact growing habit, “Knockout” shrub rose varieties can also survive temperatures that other rosebushes cannot. These flowers come in several horticultural variants, blooming in different configurations and sizes as well as several different colors. In fact, several “Knockout” roses may produce different colored blooms within the same variety.
At La Tejana Tree Sales we love the Knock Out Family of Roses they can’t be beat for style, color and versatility. Knock Out roses can reach 3 to 4 feet wide and 3 to 4 feet tall. In some areas, an early spring pruning 12 to 18 inches above the ground works well, while in areas with harder winters they may be pruned down to around 3 inches above the ground to remove the die-back of the canes. A good early spring pruning is highly recommended to help get the top performance out of these fine shrub rose bushes.
For a unique addition to your landscape, these roses also are available in tree form. The trees grow about 4 to 7 feet tall, and 2 to 3 feet wide. They do well planted in rows for tons of flowing flowers, and in containers. My favorite use for rose trees is framing entry ways with them in the summer, giving homes an inviting, elegant look.

The Pink Double Knock Out® Roses are a medium pink that fades only slightly as the blooms age.
The Red Double Knock Out® Rose has double blooms. Also the bloom fades from light red to pink.
The Blushing Knock Out® Rose is a lovely, delicate, light pink that is quite unique.
The Sunny Knock Out® Rose is a medium yellow that fades to a light, sometimes almost white, yellow as the flowers fade.
The White Knock Out® Roses have pure white flowers.
The Rainbow Knockout® Rose features two colors within the same flower. The outside of the flat-form flower features a bright pink color, but the petals turn bright yellow near the center.
