- Not an invasive plant.
- A cluster of pinkish-purple flowers on evergreen wisteria.
- Adaptable to any well-draining soil.
- Strong, sturdy support structures are needed for this plant due to weight.
This twining, flowering evergreen vine can reach heights and lengths of 20 feet, and widths of 3 to 6 feet. It has glossy, leathery green leaves and a woody stem. Its small, pea-like flowers bloom in clusters that average 6 to 8 inches in length. Evergreen wisteria’s flowers are highly fragrant and bloom during summer, although mature plants can bloom from summer through fall continually. Removing the spent flowers, or deadheading, can help encourage the plant to keep blooming. Although this plant is not invasive, like Chinese wisteria can be, it does grow vigorously and must be given a sturdy support structure.
