Bay Laurel
Bay Laurel is a moderately slow growing dense evergreen shrub or small tree that reaches 10'-25' tall and almost as wide with very aromatic elliptical 3 to 5 inch long leathery dark green leaves. Grows in sun or shade but seems to do best in cool coastal sun or light shade inland, with little or regular irrigation but not water-logging – tolerates heavy soils so long as they drain well.
Bottlebrush
Bottlebrush plants (Callistemon spp.) get their name from the spikes of flowers that bloom at the ends of the stems, bearing a strong resemblance to a bottle brush. Grow them as shrubs or small trees that grow up to 15 feet. Most bottlebrush varieties bloom over a long summer season in shades of red or crimson.
CHERRY LAUREL
Cherry-Laurel is a dependable, easily grown, North American native, is densely foliated with glossy, dark green, evergreen leaves. The tree can reach 40 feet in height with a 25-foot spread. With age the bark becomes almost black. It grows in most conditions but does not like high temperatures or hot, dry locations.

Japanese Blueberry

The extremely tolerant privet isn't picky about soil, and can grow in dry, medium or average soil types. Wax-leaf privet thrives in full sun or partial shade and is drought resistant.
Oleander Hedge
Oleander is a fast-growing evergreen shrub with fragrant, colorful flowers that bloom all summer and fall. Texas Sage
According to legend, cenizo tends to bloom in conjunction with rainfall. Texas Sage is easy to grow so long as it has good drainage. Though this species is the most irrigation-tolerant of the genus, it is susceptible to cotton root rot if soil does not have good drainage and remains moist. Texas Sage should not be fertilized or over-watered. Drought- and heat-tolerant. During very cold winters, may lose a few leaves.
Timber Bamboo
Bambusa oldhamii is a clumping timber bamboo that can grow 55' tall and produce canes that are 4" in diameter. It grows quickly in this area when given ample sun (it likes full sun), water, and fertilizer. While it will grow faster with ample water, Bambusa oldhamii is considered to be a drought tolerant bamboo. Provides a dense visual screen.
